Internet Access in China
I've been having more problems accessing the Internet on this trip than before. The ADSL connection at PMI has been down for several days, even though we got the wireless router I brought to work. I think I broke both US and Chinese laws bringing the Netgear router to Chengdu. The US has strict export compliance laws regarding encryption and I think China doesn't want people bringing wireless devices. Anyway, I ended up installing Cisco VPN software on my friend's computer to bypass the Great Firewall of China. Sigh... all this work so I can update my blog.
