Wow.
That's almost as big as the Indonesian earthquake in 2005 that caused huge tsunamis in the Indian Ocean and 10x the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. A tsunami already hit Japan and another wave is headed east towards Hawaii and the west coast of North America.

Arg. Just read news that Japan declared a nuclear emergency too as a nuclear plant lost power to its cooling system.
