Netflix on PS3

Earlier this evening, I tried switching monitors between my Mac mini and my PS3. I have an older 22" Viewsonic on my Mac that only displays 1680 x 1050. Trying to get a little bit more desktop space, I wanted to hook up a newer Acer monitor that displays 1920 x 1080 (hmm, it's not much bigger). However, the Viewsonic does not have a HDMI port and is the wrong aspect ratio for 1080p HD. I tried setting the PS3 to output 720p while using a HDMI to DVI cable but it didn't work.

Anyway, I ended up rewiring the PS3 and to test it out again, I installed Netflix. Using cousin Albert's account, I got Netflix to work and it looked pretty good. I browsed the movie selection and was happy to find a lot of Japanese anime, though probably dubbed in English. I just finished watching Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex. It was not too bad but I still liked the original better. There seems to be a lot of sequels to the original GITS and the storylines do not follow each other so it's a bit confusing. There seems to be a remastered version of GITS on Netflix... I'm going to watch that next.

maybe i will live to see the day you actually pay for movies on the internet. instead of using your cousin's account, you will have your own NF account.
